Honoring the 35th Anniversary of April 30, 1975 Celebrating Freedom in America

Join us on April 30, 2010 to honor a very important day in the USS Midway's and Vietnam's history.  It is the 35th anniversary of Operation Frequent Wind, the humanitarian mission when USS Midway sailors rescued more than 3,000 Vietnamese refugees fleeing the fall of Saigon.

The general public is invited to a special ceremony at 12 noon on the flight deck, featuring the 1975 captain of Midway, Larry Chambers, and the 1975 air boss of Midway, Vern Jumper, plus Vietnamese performances and entertainment.

Ceremony is free with paid general admission to the USS Midway Museum.   Tickets to the USS Midway Museum are still available for the April 30th event.
