POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager reports to the CFO and is responsible for daily accounting operations, monthly reporting packages and direct leadership of 3 accounting team members. Candidate will be responsible for evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures to maximize company efficiencies, recommending changes when necessary and assisting in implementation of new processes.

This position works closely with a variety of constituents (department heads, external service providers, co-workers, etc.) requiring the candidate to possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including a proven ability to tactfully collaborate on challenging issues.

    Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Leadership/management of accounting staff (3-4).
  • Manage daily accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, cash, and payroll.
  • Month end close and assist in preparation of financial statements.
  • Ongoing evaluation and implementation of accounting practices to streamline manual processes and improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinates the materials for financial audits/reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Five-ten years of progressive accounting experience
  • Three years management experience leading an accounting team of 2 or more
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise and/or system implementation and oversight experience preferred
  • ADP payroll experience and/or Non Profit experience a plus
    Skills/Abilities
  • Proven success in coaching and mentoring an accounting team
  • Ability to evaluate processes for inefficiencies and implement new processes
  • Outstanding computer skills to include proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals in a professional manner
  • Ability to work in a self-initiating business environment

  • Physical Requirements: Constant climbing up/down stairs and ladders; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull/push lift, and carry up to 20 pounds; reach both above and below shoulder height

POSITION SUMMARY
The fundamental role of the position is to provide leadership for the execution of special events aboard the USS Midway Museum. This position works closely with a variety of constituents, requiring the candidate possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including a proven ability to tactfully collaborate on challenging issues.

Schedule is generally Monday – Friday but must be flexible to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mentor, train, motivate and coach event operations team (8+ employees).
  • Schedule event management staff and oversee scheduling of event set-up staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Event sales staff in the transfer of definite events for implementation.
  • Assign events to Event Managers; maintain a level of oversight of each event as it progresses.
  • When necessary, self-assign events.
  • Review/revise standard operating procedures to ensure policies and requirements of executing events on board are met by staff, vendors and planners.
  • Coordinate with a variety of vendors, including electrical services, for scheduling staff at events, establish and maintain record of service and equipment.
  • Coordinate with facilities for construction/ship’s maintenance needs.
  • Establish and oversee event equipment procurement, inventory and maintenance records.
  • Manage billing/invoices with vendors and event clients and work with Accounting on client receivables.
  • Schedule and lead operations meetings as appropriate.
  • Assist and work at events when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with Event sales staff on all aspects in the sales-event execution-event closeout process.
  • Provide annual budgetary input to the Marketing Director.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    Education/Experience:
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of special event execution experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading/managing a staff of 2 or more.
    Skills/Abilities
  • Highly effective leadership skills, proven ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to lead collaborations with multiple parties and leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and gain trust from staff, partners, vendors, etc.; must be able to work with a wide range of individuals.
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ReServe and Meeting Matrix a plus.
  • Excellent administrative, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-initiating business environment.

Position Summary

San Diego’s top-rated attraction, the USS Midway Museum, has an opening for an experienced ship painter to be a part of the Ship’s Preservation team. This person will also provide the general labor necessary for the daily operations of the facilities department.

$10 - $12 hour based on experience
Status: 60 day temporary assignment with potential for full time after assignment is completed
Schedule: 40 hours per week, schedule varies.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK A SCHEDULE THAT WILL INCLUDE WEEKENDS, EVENINGS AND HOLIDAYS.

    Summary of Responsibilities
  • Painting, demolition, scraping, etc.
  • Assist in basic construction
  • Load/unload event gear with lift equipment
  • Operate shipboard equipment

  • Physical Requirements: Constant climbing up/down stairs and ladders; bend, stoop, kneel and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull/push lift, and carry up to 80 pounds; reach both above and below shoulder height.
  • Equipment Operated: Aircraft elevator, fork lift, man lift, aircraft tow truck, buffer/scrubber, pallet jack, small power tools and janitorial equipment.

POSITION REQUIRES RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO ACCOMMODATE LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING HOURS!!

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK A SCHEDULE that WILL INCLUDE WEEKENDS, EVENINGS AND HOLIDAYS.

    Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, using cleansers, solvents, soap solutions, and polishes
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; refill restroom dispensers
  • Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors
  • Wash walls and equipment
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, vacuums, brooms and mops for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, equipment, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in custodial maintenance or a related field
    Skills/Abilities:
