The USS Midway Museum will deck out the carrier from bow to stern with hundreds of thousands of twinkling and shimmering lights to celebrate this year’s holidays with “Jingle Jets,” its inaugural festive lighting experience. At more than 40,000 tons, the Midway will be transformed from a mighty warship into a winter wonderland with an aviation twist to bring an extraordinary holiday spirit to the San Diego Bayfront.

FAQs

Will I be able to tour the whole ship/museum during Jingle Jets?

Limited areas of the ship are open for this special presentation.  Please visit us during our regular museum hours to explore the whole ship.

Is it timed entry for Jingle Jets?

Yes – tickets for this event are for specific time slots each night that you choose during your ticket purchase online.  Once on board you may stay until we close at 9:30 p.m.

Do I need a separate ticket for a child?

Children 5 and under do not need a ticket for Jingle Jets.  Children ages 6-12 require a ticket.

Are there any special discounts for Jingle Jets?

Museum members receive a 20% discount for Jingle Jets – no other discounts apply for this special event.

If I have a ticket to visit the Midway during the day, can I stay on board for Jingle Jets?

No. A separate ticket is required. All daytime museum guests must exit the ship at 4:30 p.m.. The museum will reopen at 5:30 p.m. only for those with Jingle Jets tickets.

What food and drink options will be available?

There will be plenty of yummy holiday sweet treats.  Our Café 41 will be open providing more substantial comfort food meal options.  Cash bars will be available throughout the ship.  Outside food/beverage is not allowed for this event.

Where should I park?

Paid parking is managed by ACE Parking on Navy Pier next to the Midway is on first come-first served basis – more parking and public transportation information can be found here: Directions + Parking – USS Midway Museum

Are elevators available to board the ship?

Yes – passenger elevators are available for wheelchair usage and guests with difficulty climbing stairs. To ease the process and eliminate additional waiting time, we request that only one caregiver accompany the elevator user. The rest of the group may use the other designated entrance locations.

Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed?

Yes – the entire event will be elevator accessible.  Midway has a limited number of wheelchairs for loan on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the suggested attire?

Much of the experience will be outdoors – comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather are encouraged.

What if I need to cancel prior to the event?

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What is the rain plan?

This event will go on rain or shine.

Do I need to print my tickets?

Printed tickets will expedite your entry process but tickets on mobile devices are allowed.
