Join us for a FREE community gathering of music, dance, birthday cake, history and more for the USS Midway’s Birthday and 2nd Annual Multi-Cultural Celebration!

Enjoy the sights and sounds of local multicultural music and traditional dances center stage in the hanger deck of the Midway as we come together to celebrate 78 years of living history aboard America’s Living Symbol of Freedom. We hope you will join us for this entertaining community celebration!

In 1945, the USS Midway was commissioned with Captain Joseph F. Bolger in command. She was built by Newport News Shipbuilding Co. in Newport News, Virginia, and was the first ship in the US Navy too large to utilize the Panama Canal! Happy 78th Birthday, USS Midway!

Popcorn Shrimp Fried Rice

Spicy Salmon Poke
Salmon Poke over a bed of steamed white rice. Pickled cucumbers, sesame seeds, diced avocado, wakame, garnished with nori flakes.

Pork belly steamed buns
Sweet chili glaze pork belly. Cilantro pickled red Fresno chilies and green onions.

Baja fish tacos
Beer battered cod, slaw, Pico de Gallo topped with lime crema.

Brazilian Lemonade
Freshly squeezed limes, homemade simple syrup, sweet condensed milk, garnished with lime wheels.
