After 47 years of legendary service in the United States Navy, it was time for the USS Midway to face its final challenge… retirement. The ship would have to first say goodbye to Yokosuka, Japan, the foreign port it called home for 18 years. Many tear-filled ceremonies followed before the USS Midway was unceremoniously dumped in Bremerton, WA, a naval graveyard. The USS Midway could have been left to rot if it were not for a group of enterprising individuals who had a vision of resurrection. They’re goal: take the USS Midway from scrapyard to salvation. Watch the incredible story of how they overcame the odds to give this storied ship a second chance to serve, only this time as one of the most popular destinations in the country and a monument to the United States Navy.
