A relatively young and small organization, the Midway provides an excellent opportunity for staff to experience ownership of their work and see immediate results of their efforts while also enjoying a balanced work/life.

Volunteering on the USS Midway
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life to join Midway’s crew!
Join us as an individual for an ongoing assignment with various opportunities to choose from, or participate as a group for a one-day project that supports the Midway mission. There is something for everyone!
At 1000 hours of service, Midway volunteers are presented with an authentic, leather flight jacket at the All Hands meeting.
Volunteers make life-long friendships while working at the Midway.
Military experience is not required to be a Midway volunteer.
Midway’s culture includes having FUN!
Each month, 750 active volunteers contribute to Midway’s mission in various departments and roles.
Volunteers proudly drive the Midway’s operational success daily, keeping the Midway Magic alive!
Individual Volunteer
Midway’s individual volunteers are the heart of the experience, helping preserve the ship’s legacy while bringing its history to life for visitors from around the world.
