Join us in commemorating this milestone with a series of community-wide events that pay tribute to the enduring legacy of the Greatest Generation.

Spirit of '45 – A Celebration of the End of WWII Hosted by Honor Flight San Diego & the San Diego Air & Space Museum

Calling all WWII veterans and Rosie the Riveters! You are invited to a special celebration in your honor.
This unforgettable day will feature early access to the museum, a complimentary lunch, and a patriotic program saluting your service.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. · Lunch at 11:00 a.m. Program begins at 11:30 a.m.
Location: San Diego Air & Space Museum
Cost: Complimentary for WWII veterans, Rosies and one guest

“Dear Doc” – An Evening of Wartime Letters & Remembrance Hosted aboard the USS Midway Museum
SEPTEMBER 16, 2025 - 6:00 p.m.
Experience a powerful night of storytelling as actors bring to life real WWII letters sent to beloved SDSU professor Dr. Lauren Post by his former students serving overseas. Featuring live music, special performances, exhibits, and refreshments aboard America’s Living Symbol of Freedom.

San Diego Veterans Day Parade Honoring the 80th Anniversary of the end of WWII
NOVEMBER 11, 2025 · 10:00 a.m.
Celebrate our heroes along the beautiful San Diego Bayfront at this year’s Veterans Day Parade, which will shine a special spotlight on World War II veterans as grand marshals. Marching bands, military groups, and community organizations will come together in patriotic tribute.
Location: Harbor Drive (in front of the County Administration Building)
