About the Event
Join us aboard the historic USS Midway for a powerful night of remembrance as actors from the theatrical group, Write Out Loud, bring to life real wartime letters written to Dr. Lauren Post, a beloved SDSU professor who kept the spirit of connection alive through the voices of his students serving overseas.
Featuring:
• Theatrical Letter Readings
• Live Music & Singing
• Special WWII Exhibits
• Cash Bar & Light Snacks
The letters highlighted in “Dear Doc” are among the 5,000 archived in the WWII Servicemen’s Correspondence Collection, San Diego State University Library.
The "Dear Doc" script, created by SDSU alumnus Jonnie Wilson, will be performed by the San Diego theatrical group Write Out Loud.
